The office manager is the coordinator of the work system.

An office manager is responsible for planning, organization, and controlling the production.

It is usually done through the office staff, line managers and maintaining the data of production, failures, overtime. They arrange meetings to discuss the prevailing issue and improvement of work.

Often they also engage in marketing. Also, their tasks are to monitor the work processes and to evaluate the outcome.

Furthermore, their role is to coordinate on the front end by issuing various assignments. Even they are get assignments from the management and get them done through their subordinates who may be engineers, clerks, administrators.

Managers are usually hold one or more following positions:

  • Production
  • Quality control
  • Accounting
  • Budget development
  • Purchasing
  • Human resources
  • Stores & warehouse

Good managers should possess are problem solving and decision making abilities, integrity, flexibility, accuracy and the ability to cope with pressure.
